Participating in the Bots Battle at UB with our Robotics team has been such a highlight of this year for me. Not only did we do well in the competition, but it meant I got to spend time with my friends doing something I love.

Tech Wars, where we build a cardboard boat that has to hold 2 students, and then be paddled down the length of a swimming pool, is absolutely one of the best opportunities to take our STEAM principles and apply them somewhere fun! Our students love it, and we’ve done well each year we’ve participated, so well that this year we are petitioning the hosts of the event to allow us to enter 2 boats to compete! Our Mounties are creative and disciplined when they engineer it’s design, fully hands-on when it comes to the building and then very spirited when it comes to the competition!

Our Fine Arts program makes me really proud. I love the musicals, and have participated in them for all three years at MSM. I’m also in our select choir (Gemtones) and take private voice lessons. Our musical this year is “The Little Mermaid” and I have the lead role, Ariel, and my best friend from our brother school, St. Joseph Collegiate Institute is playing Prince Eric and the memories we’re making are so special

Mathletes is not a club I joined to boost my college resume, I swear! It’s a club I actually enjoy participating in because it’s so fast paced, and I’m good at math! The moderators make it so fun, and since they are our teachers I know they want to make sure we have the skills to do well when we compete, but also do well in the classroom.
